When a prototype board becomes a liability.
A Raspberry Pi or a similar single-board computer is a fast way to build a first prototype. It is a poor foundation for a shipping product. It costs more than a custom board at scale. It depends on one supplier for a critical part. It often runs far more computing power than your product needs.
01 How we approach this
- 01We study what your product actually needs from the board: processing power, memory, connectivity and I/O.
- 02We design a custom board around a processor sized correctly for the job, often from the STM32 or ESP32 families.
- 03We port your existing software and logic to the new hardware.
- 04We remove the single-source risk that comes with relying on one board supplier.
02 A good fit if
- ✓You are still buying Raspberry Pi boards for a product you plan to sell at volume.
- ✓Your unit cost is too high because your hardware is overbuilt for the job.
